INFORMATION COLLECTED ON OUR SITE

The information collected on our Site falls into two categories: (1) information voluntarily supplied by users to the Site; and (2) tracking information that is automatically gathered as users navigate through the Site. This information may be collected directly by us, or it may be collected by a third party service provider on our behalf. No personally identifiable information, such as a user’s name, address, email address, or telephone number, is automatically collected via our Site; personally identifiable information about Site users is collected only when knowingly and voluntarily submitted. Third-party providers featured on or linked to on our Site, such as vendors of products and services, may be gathering information as well, through processes we don't control.

Information Voluntarily Supplied by Users

We may collect and store information, personal or otherwise, that you voluntarily supply either while on our Site or when sending us an email in connection with a feature provided on our Site.  Some examples of this type of information include demographic information and personal information (such as your name, address, or email address) that you electronically submit when you register for certain features on our Site, participate in sweepstakes or contests offered on the Site, sign up for email newsletters, or contact us with questions, and information that you post on message boards or other public posting areas on our Site. The information supplied will help us provide the product or service requested, fulfill the contest or sweepstakes offered, send you the email newsletters or other communications requested by you, offer you more personalized features and tailor the Site to your interests. Supplying such information is entirely voluntary. However, if you choose not to supply information requested, we may be unable to provide you with services made available to other users of the Site.

Information That Is Automatically Collected

Of course, you can set your browser not to accept cookies, but if you do, you may not be able to take advantage of the personalized features enjoyed by other visitors to our Community

We also may collect and store information that is generated automatically as you navigate through our Site. For example, to help make the Site more responsive to the needs of users, we may employ, on our Site, or on certain pages of our Site, a standard feature of browser software, called a "cookie," to assign each user a unique, random number that resides on a user's computer. The cookie doesn't actually identify you, it just identifies the computer that you use to access the Site.  The only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply (e.g., if you submit a username and password and ask that the Site remember that information the next time you visit).  A cookie cannot read unrelated data off your hard drive.  We use cookies to help us tailor the Site to your needs, to deliver a better, more useful service.  For example, we may use cookies to track the pages on the Site visited by users. We can make the Site more effective if we know which areas our users are visiting and how often.  Of course, you are free to set your web browser not to accept cookies; however, doing so may render your computer unable to take advantage of the personalized features enjoyed by other users of the Site.

We also may use web beacons (also known as "single-pixel GIFs") to access cookies and to count users who visit our Site or open our HTML-formatted email messages.  And our Site’s servers may automatically collect limited information about your computer's connection to the Internet, including your IP address. The IP address is a number that lets computers attached to the Internet know where to send data - such as the web pages users view.  An IP address does not personally identify a user.  We may use this information to deliver the Site’s content to you upon request and to measure traffic within the Site.

In addition, third party advertisers or third party ad servers that place and present advertising on our Site also may collect information from you via cookies, web beacons or similar technologies, a process that we do not control.  These third party advertisers and ad servers may use the information they collect to help present their advertisements, to help measure and research the advertisements' effectiveness, or for other uses.  The use and collection of your information by these third party advertisers and ad servers is governed by the relevant third party's privacy policy and is not covered by our privacy policy.

You agree that we may use any information submitted by or collected from you via the Site for any purpose, including to contact you for customer service purposes, to inform you of important changes or additions to our Site or the services offered over our Site, and to send you administrative notices, offers and any other communications that we believe may be of interest to you. You also agree that we may provide any or all of your information to third parties, such as service providers, contractors, contest co-sponsors, partners, fulfillment agencies and advertisers, for any purpose, such as to enable us or a third party to provide you with a requested product or service, or to provide you with information and offers about products, services and events that may be of interest to you.

Please also keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily make your personal information available for viewing by third parties online – for example on message boards, through email or web logs, or in chat areas – that information can be seen, collected and used by others besides Fox Radio 1310 AM and 1370 AM.  We cannot be responsible for any unauthorized third party use of such information.

It's been a hectic week with not much time to work on the blog.

Here's a few links for the weekend...enjoy!!

Jeremiah Masoli to Hawaii?  We'll if your going to spend a year before trying to go to the NFL, Hawaii sounds like a good spot to me.

Enjoy the links and remember to join us Monday at 1p on Fox Sports Radio 1310 for "The Show"!

The NCAA is investigating North Carolina.  Improper contact with an agent.  Sounds like a "Reggie Bush" type situation.  North Carolina is poised for a big season, this is by far the best team that Butch Davis has had.  They've built a monster defense that may be the best in college football this year.

Baseball, Football and College Basketball...

Monday, July 12, 2010 10:22pm

54 days til the kickoff of the college football season.
What a great time we had on Monday on The Show on Fox Sports Radio 1310.
Three great guest, Bill Madden of the New York Daily News, author of the book, "Steinbrenner:The Last Lion of Baseball",
Chattanooga men's basketball coach John Shulman and Phil Steele of Phil Steele's College Football
Preview magazine.

Let's start with some baseball.
If you are a reader and enjoy good sports books, I highly recommend "Steinbrenner: The Last Lion of Baseball" by Bill Madden.
Bill is a guy that you've probably heard before on several national radio and tv programs.
He's the national baseball columnist for the New York Daily News and has covered the Yankees
for more than 30-years.  He was recently named the 2010 winner of J.G. Taylor Spink Award and will be honored
on induction day at the National Baseball Hall of Fame.  I love a great book and this one certainly qualifies.

Sad to hear about Bob Sheppard, the long time Yankees PA Announcer passing away at age 99.

I appreciate John Shulman for his time on Monday as well.  With the recent incidents at both Tennessee and Georgia,
I'm reminded that we really haven't had a scandal involving the Chattanooga Mocs in a couple years.
Off the top of my head I can't remember the last time the basketball Mocs made the news for something off the court.
Whenever issues have risen, Shulman has handled them quickly and swiftly.  I love having basketball coaches on the show.
They are all colorful and John is no exception.  A couple of nuggets from our interveiw today:
Jay Bowen is the new assistant, coming over from UT-Martin to replace David Conrady.
Bowen has a track record, he's been around the mid-majors in this state having also spent time at Austin Peay.
According to Shulman, he's going to handle recruiting Memphis and the state of Mississippi for the Mocs.
Shulman also added that all three assistants will be on the road recruiting.  The NCAA premits only two coaches
and the Head Coach on the road at the same time, so someone will get some time at home.
July is a busy recruiting month, Shulman says the Mocs may not be finished for the 2010-2011 season.  He says the Mocs may
add another.  As far as the 2011 class goes, he's looking at high school kids.  He talked a little about a change in recruiting.
Could the Mocs be moving towards less dependance on the JUCO's and start taking more high school kids?
There is something about having guys play together for four years.  Look at what Butler did this year?  It's the only way that the mid-majors
can hang with the top tier teams.  It seems like the Mocs have spent the early part of the season the last few years looking
for the right lineup, the right combination on the floor.  That happens when your roster is in flux with new JUCO's coming in etc...
Shulman also said the Troy Cage had surgery on his knee to clean up some damage.  He'll be back on the floor this fall and ready to go.
The schedule is expected to get final approval in the coming days.
Basketball season seems so far away, but honestly, it will be here before we know it.  But we've still got a football season to preivew, and speaking
of football...

Phil Steele is as knowledgeable as any guys that we're going to have on.  We could have gone for an hour straight.
His magazine is a must read every summer.  Check him out online at www.philsteele.com
More rumors continue surrounding the brawl at Bar Knoxville last week.  Tennessee really needs some leaders to step forward right now.
We've heard alot about Nick Reveiz being a leader this off season.  It's time for him to step it up and be vocal right now.
Same with Senior TE Luke Stocker and QB Matt Simms.  Once all the suspensions are handed out we'll find out how much this is going
to hurt the team on the field.  I don't like the things I've heard so far.  Montori Hughes has retained a lawyer.
Everyone that I've talked to about this, say that Hughes was involved.  DT Marlon Walls has already been suspended indefinately.
As we said last week, DT is the one position on the field where Tennessee just cannot afford to lose anyone.
Several reports say that the group of players were ran out of two other bars last Thursday night before settling into
Bar Knoxville.  So much for a quite July.

We've got a great Tuesday lined up for The Show on Fox Sports Radio 1310.  We'll talk some NASCAR with Matt Talaferro at 1:35pm.
John Pennington from MRSEC.com joins us at 2:35pm.  Also make sure you join us next week from the SEC Media Days where we'll be broadcasting live
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  It's the official start of the football season for me.  It also means that I'm looking at working six to seven days a week
until Thanksgiving or early December.  It's hectic but honestly, there is nothing else that I'd rather be doing.
See ya Tuesday!

Chris

Da'Rick Rogers Arrested

Friday, July 9, 2010 9:56am

Former Calhoun standout Da'Rick Rogers was arrested this morning at Bar Knoxville.  He was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Here's some details from the Knoxville Police Department:

This morning at approximately 1:50 a.m., officers responded to Bar Knoxville located at 1820 Cumberland Avenue after being notified that an off-duty police officer had been assaulted. When officers arrived on the scene they located Knoxville Police Department Officer Robert Capouellez lying on the ground unconscious. Officer Capouellez was transported to UT Medical Center for treatment of a head wound. Another individual from inside Bar Knoxville who had been assaulted by multiple individuals was also transported to UT Medical Center with numerous injuries. I will release the name of that victim once his next of kin has been notified.

According to multiple witnesses, the male victim from inside the bar was involved in an altercation with another patron when several additional patrons jumped into the fight. Employees of the bar intervened and push the fight outside onto the sidewalk. Officer Capouellez intervened in an attempt to stop the fight when he was attacked. According to witnesses, the officer was hit in the head and knocked to the ground. Once on the ground the suspect kicked the officer several times before fleeing the scene. Six individuals were identified as potential suspects. These individuals were located and detained for questioning. It appears several of these individuals may be associated with the University of Tennessee football program. One of the suspects has been turned over to UTPD who will file charges after one of their officers was assaulted while attempting to take this individual into custody.

Among the players detained includes wide receiver Denarius Moore.  WBIR-TV in Knoxville has a picture of Moore being detained by officers.  Head Coach Derek Dooley and the Athletic Department are aware of the situation but have not released a statement.  More details coming...join us on The Show today on Fox Sports Radio 1310 at 1pm for the latest.
